New Year, New Goals

Life is busy. Often times it sneaks away from us and before we know it another year has come to an end. Those unfinished goals from the year before linger in the back of your mind, traumatizing you as the new year falls into motion. It happens to the best of us and we all know the feeling (well at least I do, that's for sure.)

Often times life doesn't go the way we plan it. Stuff happens. Issues with family members arise or plans shift one way or another for various reasons. Don't let this bog you down. I've been thinking a lot about how stressful new years can be. How everyone feels pressure to enter the new year exuberantly with plans to conquer the world that aren't always realistic. Trust me, you don't always have to have these unattainable goals pilling up. And more importantly, don't let the curve-balls that life throws take you by surprise. Be prepared, set goals, and make plans, but with flexibility. Know that you need to re-evaluate and change your course of action in order to hit a home run.

Instead of stressing that you weren't able to accomplish something, look at the positives. What did you learn from the situation that may have kept you from reaching your goal? What can you improve to make it happen? who can you go to for advice if needed? What action steps will you take to achieve your goals this time?

These types of questions have helped me to take the nasty curve-balls that would normally strike me out, and hit them hard in the center. Take time to answer them. Write them down. Post it somewhere you can see. Reflect on your mistakes and turn them into a platform that helps you in the future.

I am excited about 2017. It's a new year, a new chance, and a new opportunity to grow. I hope to use this year to listen to God's plan for me, live life to it's fullest and enjoy the journey.

TELL me about your goals! I want to know about you.

xoxo- I'm out,

Abbi
